Barcelona ready to return with fresh bid for Chelsea forward

Barcelona are preparing a £30million bid to finally secure the signature of Willian, according to The Sun.

It is understood the Spanish giants offered cash and winger Malcom in exchange for Willian in January, but will renew their interest in the summer.

Willian, 30, has one year left on his Stamford Bridge contract and Barca will look to test Chelsea's resolve with a substantial offer.

Barca realise Chelsea risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time when his deal expires as he can move on a free transfer.

The Catalan club are determined to add the Brazilian to their forward line as they look to replicate their La Liga and Champions League success of this season.

Barca’s bid of £50m in January was rejected but his market value has dropped because of his contract running down.

Chelsea were determined to retain their man last summer, though a variety of factors may come into play this time around.

Maurizio Sarri's side are faced with a looming transfer ban, for which they are in the process of an appeal.

FIFA have imposed the ban on the Blues for the next two transfer windows, meaning they will need to hold on to top talent along with promoting through the ranks.

Chelsea look set to lose Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, as the mercurial Belgian enters the final year of his current deal.

A move for highly rated Christian Pulisic has already been secured, however, meaning Chelsea have a collection of wingers including Pedro and recent England international Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The teenager has been linked with a switch to Bayern Munich and has refused to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, though a potential sale of Willian would open up a space in the starting XI for the talented youngster.
