Barcelona could sign Neymar on loan after £108m Antoine Griezmann deal

BARCELONA are considering signing want away PSG superstar Neymar on loan with an obligation to buy, after shelling out £108million on Antoine Griezmann, according to reports in Spain.

Neymar is expected to leave PSG this summer after telling the French champions that he wants to leave the club.

After controversially failing to report back for pre-season training with the Parisians, Neymar gave an interview with American site OhMyGoal, and told them that his favourite memory in football was when he engineered Barcelona’s 6-1 comeback win over PSG.

After returning, he apparently engaged in showdown talks with PSG chiefs, who tried to convince him to stay.

However, after reaffirming his desire to leave, the French side were left with no choice but to start exploring opportunities for him to go.

It is understood Barcelona are his primary choice, with the Brazilian keen to find a way to return to his former club.

However, after the Catalan giants signed Griezmann for more than £100m, it w…

Barcelona to open talks with Manchester United for Defender

With Matthijs de Ligt almost certainly heading to Juventus, Barcelona's search for a new centre-back has taken a surprising turn -- to Manchester, of all places.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish champions are interested in oft criticised United centre-back Victor Lindelof.

The Sweden international endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford after his €35 million move from Benfica in 2017, but he is slowly beginning to find his feet in the Premier League.

Can Barcelona convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer & Co. to cash in on Lindelof now to fund yet another rebuild of United's squad? The Spanish outlet says Barca are hoping to open talks this week.

From Brazil: Neymar’s transfer to Barcelona could be agreed tomorrow

Neymar’s return to Barcelona could be agreed tomorrow, according to reports from the Brazilian press on Monday.

Reporter Marcelo Bechler, from Esporte Interativo, claims that the player’s father, along with his lawyer, will be meeting Barcelona official André Cury in the Catalan capital on Tuesday.

Bechler claims there’s ‘some big confidence’ from all parties involved that the deal can be found on the same day. He calls it ‘D Day’.

He adds that despite some rumours saying Ousmane Dembélé and Philippe Coutinho could be included in a deal with Paris Saint Germain, the players have not been sought by the French side and should not be part of the agreement. No further details on fees are revealed.

The news comes with great buzz because Marcelo Bechler is the one who broke the final details of Neymar’s transfer to PSG two seasons ago. This time, Esporte Interativo only explained it with a tweet and a 38 second video. But more should certainly come this week.

Deal close: Barcelona edging closer to sealing departure of Suarez

Barcelona are said to be closing in on the sale of Spanish midfielder Denis Suarez to fellow La Liga side Celta Vigo according to respected journalist Gerard Romero.

According to Romero on Twitter, Barcelona are close to selling Suarez to Celta for a fee of around €15M, with the deal set to be closed at some point tomorrow.

If Barcelona do manage to get this deal over the line, it should be seen as a solid piece of business from the club, as they’d be bringing in €15M by selling one of their least-valued players. Suarez has failed to cement himself in Barca’s starting XI in recent seasons, something that lead to the player being loaned out to Arsenal in January last season, however during his stay in north London, the Spaniard only managed to six appearances for the Gunners in all competitions. By selling Suarez for this amount, Barca will not only be adding another €15M to their books, but also clearing Suarez’s wages off the wage bill in the process. View image on Twitter Gerard Romero@…

Neymar transfer blow as Barcelona set to announce Antoine Griezmann signing next week

BARCELONA could announce the signing of Antoine Griezmann as early as Monday, claims Sky Sports News reporter David Reed.

Griezmann declared in May that he was leaving Atletico Madrid this summer.

The France international’s release clause at Atletico drops to €120m (£107m) at the start of July.

Barcelona are heavy favourites to sign Griezmann but the future of Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain has added doubt to a potential deal.

Neymar is said to want a return to Barca and PSG are keen on offloading the £200m star.

It would be unlikely that Barca would be able to sign both Griezmann and Neymar.

But when discussing the future of Philippe Coutinho, Reed claimed Griezmann is to be announced as a Barcelona player next week.

“I think it has almost been the price that has done for Coutinho at Barcelona,” Reed said on the Transfer Talk podcast.

“The Barcelona fans simply don’t feel that he’s delivered on that price tag and has been worth that money.

“And it shows really that Barcelona are chas…

Football transfer rumours: Roberto Martínez to take over at Barcelona?

Following Barcelona’s defeat at the hands of Valencia in last weekend’s Copa del Rey final, the future of Ernesto Valverde is in doubt – and Catalan radio station RAC1 have identified the Belgium manager, Roberto Martínez, as the favourite to succeed him. Signed for both Wigan and Everton by Martínez, jokes about James McCarthy replacing Sergio Busquets at the Camp Nou are already doing the rounds. The Everton midfielder might not get his dream move if one of Unai Emery, Ronald Koeman or Max Allegri, who are also believed to be on Barca’s four-man shortlist, get the job.

In other managerial news, the Mail report that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has already agreed a deal with Juventus that would net him an added £1.2m per year and put an end to the thinly-veiled xenophobia he has to put up with from certain sections of the British media. Elsewhere, France Football claim André Villas-Boas, who was also much-maligned during his time in England, is on the verge of taking over at Marseill…

Barcelona could reportedly be prepared to sell Luis Suarez in this Summer

Barcelona could reportedly be prepared to sell Luis Suarez in this summer's transfer window.
Suarez joined the Catalan giants from Liverpool in 2014 and has scored 177 goals in 247 appearances in all competitions, winning four La Liga titles, four Copa del Rey crowns and one Champions League during his time at Camp Nou.

The 32-year-old contributed 25 goals in all competitions during the 2018-19 season but was forced to miss Barca's last three La Liga matches and the Copa del Rey final after undergoing knee surgery.

According to Sport, Suarez's decision to undergo an operation at that stage in order to potentially represent Uruguay at this summer's Copa America upset his club.

Meanwhile, the same report has claimed that the striker's performance against Liverpool in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final - which the Spanish side lost 4-0 - has made him 'transferable'.

The Spanish champions are widely expected to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atle…

9 Barcelona players to be sold after the Copa del Rey Final

As many as nine Barcelona players will not continue next season after wanting to leave or being deemed surplus to requirements.

Barcelona will be facing Valencia in the Copa del Rey Final on Saturday evening. The Catalans have a chance to wrap up their second trophy of the season- the Spanish Cup. Should they manage to achieve the feat, Ernesto Valverde’s men would have won five straight Copa del Rey titles and retained their domestic double from the 2017/18 season.

According to Sport, the last game of 2018/19 could well be the last outing for as many as nine Barcelona players. Jasper Cillessen will definitely be leaving the club to be a regular elsewhere. Juventus is the most sought after destination for him and the Catalans will not hesitate in selling him if they receive an offer in excess of 25 million euros.

Jeison Murillo would probably make the bench but will certainly not start against Valencia. There is an option of purchase in his loan deal, but Barcelona will surely not tr…

Dutch starlet has flown today to complete transfer to Barcelona – 5 year contract waiting for him

Ludovit Reis should be in Barcelona now, excited and ready to sign a contract with the Catalan club.

Dutch newspaper AD report the FC Groningen player was due to fly out this morning, having seen his club eliminated from the chase for European football.

That freed the 18 year old to travel, and he’s certainly not wasting any time.

Reis is expected to be part of Barcelona’s B team for next season, but of course his long term aim will be to impress manager Ernesto Valverde and whoever comes after the Spaniard in charge at the Camp Nou.

On May 4th, it was reported in the Netherlands that Reis would quickly be travelling to the La Liga club in order to complete his move, but it’s obviously taken a little longer.

Barcelona are expected to pay around €7.7m for the young midfielder, and hand him a five year contract with the club.

De Telegraaf previously reported the fee is ‘spectacular’ for the Dutch club.

Barcelona preparing shock move for out-of-favour Liverpool forward

Barcelona are planning a surprise move for Liverpool forward Divock Origi, just weeks after the Belgian’s brace helped dump the Spanish giants out of the Champions League.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, relayed in an article by Sport Witness, Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is keen on bringing in two strikers this summer.

One of the forwards expected to arrive at the Nou Camp is Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, with the Frenchman announcing he will leave Atletico last week.

However, according to the report, the second striker Barca are considering signing is either Origi or Tottenham Hotspur’s Fernando Llorente.

Origi netted twice at Anfield against Barcelona two weeks ago as Jurgen Klopp’s side booked their place in the Champions League final with a remarkable 4-0 victory.

Llorente has also scored a vital European goal for Spurs this season, with his bundled effort back in April enough for Mauricio Pochettino’s side to defeat Manchester City.

Origi’s current Reds d…

Matthijs De Ligt Set To Sign For Barcelona

Barcelona are set to sign youngster Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax, despite huge interest from Premier League clubs according to reports from England.

The highlight for many this season in the Champions League was the re-emergence of Ajax as a major player in European football, as they beat Real Madrid and Juventus on their way to the semi final.

Like with many clubs in recent times that have excited with their style of play and young up and coming players the fear has been that after one brilliant season the Dutch side would be split up.

Earlier this season Barcelona announced that they would sign midfielder Frenkie de Jong in the summer and many expect that more names will leave the Johan Cruyff arena.

It's been reported that Hakim Ziyech will follow De Jong to the exit door and Matthijs de Ligt has been rumoured to also be leaving in the summer.

Barcelona have been heavily linked whilst there's also been reports that Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have all sh…

BARCELONA could be without five key players for the Copa del Rey final.. See List

The La Liga champions face Valencia in Seville on May 25 looking to end their stunning season on a high.

Barca are targeting their fifth consecutive Copa del Rey title.

But Ernesto Valverde may have to field a makeshift side against Valencia.

Luis Suarez is definitely out after undergoing minor knee surgery last week.

The striker will be sidelined for at least a few weeks but he’s hoping to be back in time to represent Uruguay at the Copa America next month.

Samuel Umtiti has also returned from a spell on the sidelines, as has keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

But Valverde has revealed the extent of his side’s injury woes.

"(Nelson) Semedo was taken to hospital during the game,” he said following Barcelona’s final-day draw with Eibar.

“But we are hopeful it is only a minor problem and he can return tomorrow.

"We think that Ter Stegen will be fit for the final, after the initial diagnosis was reassessed.

"With (Philippe) Coutinho, I do not know yet, but we allowed him an ad…

Barcelona and Lionel Messi agree on cheap replacement for Luis Suarez

Signing a replacement for Luis Suarez is on the top of Barcelona’s agenda and now the club as well as Lionel Messi have agreed on a cheap option.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has started declining this season. In spite of having some lethal spells in front of goal, the overall season must not be considered to be a great one from his point of view and after five years of magnificent goal scoring prowess, the Uruguay international’s time at his prime may very well have come to an end.

The Catalans and in particular, Luis Suarez himself, have conceded to the fact that he needs a replacement and signing one is on the agenda for the summer. Luka Jovic of Eintracht Frankfurt is an option, but at 70 million euros, the club thinks that the Serbia international is very expensive and Antoine Griezmann, worth 120 million euros is not in the good books of Barcelona’s seniors.

As claimed by Fox Sports, the Spanish champions will now consider moving for Girona striker Christhian Stuani during the…

Barcelona Set Prices for Umtiti and two other first team players who as They Look to Raise €265m in Summer Overhaul

Barcelona are spending big this summer with €75m Frenkie de Jong already confirmed and Matthijs de Ligt and Antoine Griezmann likely on the way for even bigger fees.

However, the Spanish champions are looking to offset their outgoings with a number of sales this summer, which could total a massive €265m and see some very high-profile names put on the market.

Marca claim that Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic, Malcom, Nelson Semedo, Rafinha and Jasper Cillessen will all be put up for sale by Barcelona as part of the shake-up, following another traumatic season in Europe.

In addition, Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez, who were both loaned out in 2018/19 also, are (less surprisingly) expected to leave, while Marc Cucurella will be re-signed from Eibar before being sold for profit.

Most intriguingly, Marca puts specific price tags against many of the players named as available for market.

Philippe Coutinho As previously speculated by other reports, Coutinho's tag is appar…

How Barcelona plan on upstaging Madrid to sign Pogba: report

Manchester United star Paul Pogba may have more suitors than initially anticipated with Barcelona reportedly planning on signing him too.

The Frenchman was originally linked with a move to Real Madrid, particularly after his positive comments and Zinedine Zidane’s return to the capital.

The midfielder’s high wages and likely high price-tag was believed to have put off most top European clubs from signing him but that’s rather proven to be false.

Along with the two Spanish giants, Juventus are also said to be keen on bring Pogba back to Italy to help them in their quest for the Champions League title.

United may have a real struggle on their hands if the pace continues to pick up as it was only Madrid who were attempting to sign him.

According to the Mirror, Tuttosport report that Barcelona will sell Ivan Rakitic in order to fund a £130m bid for Paul’s signature in an effort to beat their rivals to the transfer.

The figure mentioned above is believed to be the sum the Red Devils are l…

Internet glitch reveals Barcelona have signed Alexandre Lacazette

Antoine Griezmann is linked with an eye-catching move to Barcelona and for a moment on Wednesday, Arsenal fans feared his France team-mate Alexandre Lacazette was set to follow suit.

But while Atletico Madrid's Griezmann has declared he is on the move, Lacazette's dalliance with Barcelona owed to nothing more than an internet glitch.

Twitter erupted at the sight of the 27-year-old's name appearing among the player profiles available on Barcelona's official website.

To some fans, this was akin to images of your star striker posing in the strip of an interested party long before his move has been made official. Lacazette to Barcelona was on - how would Arsenal fill a 13-league goal hole in their front line?

"Why's Lacazette on the Barcelona website?" tweeted user @ClassyArsenal.

Suddenly, though, confusion reigned when it was pointed out that Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba was also listed. Perhaps Gerard Pique was set to have a new central defensive partn…

Barcelona president makes his decision: Griezmann is coming and more......

Antoine Griezmann has confirmed his exit from Atlético Madrid via a goodbye video, and Barcelona are considered favorites to land his signature.
.@AntoGriezmann: "Han sido cinco años increíbles; muchas gracias por todo, os llevo en el corazón". — Atlético de Madrid (@Atleti) May 14, 2019
According to Mundo Deportivo’s Francesc Aguilar, it’s all about agreeing a deal, as Barcelona want to avoid paying his release clause.

While Griezmann has a release clause of 120 million euros, Barcelona may opt to reach an agreement with the club instead, to avoid having to go through the player himself having to deposit his clause. Barcelona reportedly will go for a 100 million fee plus 20 million in easily attainable add-ons.

The club is sure that Griezmann will not spurn them the way he did last summer, according to Aguilar. They reportedly have the player’s commitment, from the player himself as well as from his entourage, with Éric Abidal serving as a go-bet…

Barcelona striker agrees to join Leeds this summer

According to MARCA, Leeds United have already agreed a move to sign Barcelona forward Rafa Mujica this summer.

The Whites landed one former Barca kid in Kun Temenuzhkov back in 2017, and one of his former teammates appears to be joining him at Elland Road.

MARCA, through journalist Angel Garcia, claim that Leeds have already secured a deal to bring Mujica to West Yorkshire, and he will start his career with the club in June.

Mujica, 20, has been with Barcelona's B team this season, and has notched seven goals and one assist in 33 games over the course of the campaign.

The young Spaniard is mostly a striker, but he can also play out wide, giving the Leeds youth ranks another versatile forward to develop.

Formerly of Las Palmas, Mujica joined Barca in 2015 and has been coming up through the ranks with the Catalan giants, but will now leave after four years.

The young forward will now hope to become a first-team player with Leeds in the coming years, and this seems to be another dea…

Griezmann to Barcelona is a done deal?

Antoine Griezmann looks set to leave Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona and Griezmann are closer than ever. They are convinced in Spain, especially Manu Carreno, an Iberian journalist from Mediaset Spain and Cadena Ser, who believes that the Frenchman has already agreed with the blaugrana club.

Yesterday the number 7 was among those in attendance of Diego Godin Farwell from the Wanda Metropolitano he soon could be the next of the Atletico side to leave as the Spanish champions are preparing to play the World Cup winners release clause.

According to reports in Spain, Griezmann has signed a five-year pre-contract with Barcelona, ready to pay the 125 million in the rescission clause into the Colchoneros. Atletico's managers would already know about it, with Grizù ready to say goodbye to Madrid for Catalonia.

It is expected that should Greizmann join then Barcelona will have to make scarifies in order to accommodate him, former Liverpool star Coutinho could b…

De Ligt confirms Ajax exit as Barcelona directors are in Amsterdam to close the deal

Matthijs de Ligt’s time in the Dutch capital looks set to be coming to an end.

The Dutch defender and captain of Ajax spoke to Fox Sports after his side's victory yesterday over Utrecht, which practically hands them the title thanks to PSV’s defeat.

"My last [game at] Joahn Cruyff Arena? I don't know yet. There are negotiations, but there is still no agreement with whom? The newspapers write. Choose one of you."

Mundo Deportivo writes, that a delegation from Barcelona is in the Netherlands to speed up the negotiation to ensure that the Dutch central defender will end up in Catalonia.

However, Italian champions Juventus are also interested in the player, as the side look to replace Barzagli, who will retire at the end of the season. The player impressed with his two performances against the Italian’s when Ajax knocked them out of the Champions League.

Barcelona shortlist young Nigerian sensation as Philippe Coutinho replacement

Barcelona are looking to sell off Philippe Coutinho and affirm his replacement in a 19-year-old African starlet during this summer.

Barcelona signed Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool for a club record fee of 142 million euros back in January 2018. Despite paying through their nose for the Brazil international, the winger is still seemingly unsettled at the club. Philippe Coutinho has not managed to take his chances and he has always been in and out of the team.

Just 18 months since his purchase, the Catalans have now decided to cash in on him and claim at least some return from their investment, a year and a half later. With that said, they reportedly see him worth 100 million euros. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are considered to be the two parties interested in him and his price tag is well within their affordability.

Ernesto Valverde’s side has now shortlisted a replacement for the inevitably outgoing former Liverpool winger in Villarreal sensation Samuel Chukwueze. The…

Barcelona and Ajax have reached an agreement for De ligt.. See what is delaying the deal

Matthijs De Ligt's probable move to Barcelona has been put on standby due to agent Mino Raiola's concerns about the commission he would receive as part of the deal.Neither Barcelona or Ajax are worried about this hold up because the two clubs have already agreed a fee in the region of 70 million euros.

The notorious agent is holding out for 20 percent of the transfer fee for himself, a figure of 14 million euros, which is incredibly high when you consider that agents usually receive between five and 10 percent.

With the defender already set on a move to the Camp Nou to follow teammate Frenkie De Jong, Ajax don't want to lose out on that 20 percent.

Due to Ajax's position, Raiola is hoping that another club comes in with a higher offer for his client so he can cash in the amount he desires.

The Dutch club are hoping to close out this deal quickly in order to reinvest in their current squad for next season.

"I think these will be De Ligt's final games with Ajax…

Barcelona eyeing second raid on Ajax with €135m duo in their sights this summer

Barcelona have already secured a deal to sign Frenkie de Jong from Ajax this summer, but they could reportedly return for two more star men.

As noted by BBC Sport, the Catalan giants have already sealed De Jong’s arrival in a €75m+ move, adding a key figure in midfield with a long-term vision in mind.

However, their spending spree this summer could continue at Ajax, as it’s now been suggested that two more of the Eredivisie outfit’s prized assets are on their radar.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have pushed on with talks over Matthijs de Ligt, although it’s noted that it will likely cost a similar fee of around €75m to prise him away from Amsterdam this summer.

Nevertheless, with contacts continuing between the two clubs, that will surely put Barca in a strong position ahead of the mentioned competition to secure the 19-year-old’s signature, and he has been equally as impressive as De Jong this season in particular to warrant such a move.

That’s not the end of it though, as Mundo…

Messi approves Barcelona’s approach for Real Madrid’s prime midfield target... Guess who?

Barcelona’s approach for one of the world’s best midfielders, who is also a Real Madrid target, has been approved by Lionel Messi.

Barcelona’s signing of Frenkie de Jong may mean that Ivan Rakitic might ask for a transfer despite his playing time not being affected too much, in all probability. Meanwhile, the Catalans are also considering his sale whilst his stock as well as age is high and replacing him with a younger player, thanks to slightly subpar performances of late.

The former Sevilla midfielder is on the radar of Inter Milan while a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain or Juventus could be on the cards as well. That said, his Catalan side is already bracing for his departure and looking for a fill-in. According to Diario GOL, Paul Pogba of Manchester United is the chosen man at Lionel Messi’s consent.

Eric Abidal, the Spanish champions’ sporting director believes that his common nationality with Paul Pogba can be used as bait in persuading the Manchester United midfielder to move…

BREAKING!!! Luis Suarez Needs Arthroscopic Knee Surgery, a Doubt for Copa del Rey Final, Copa America

Luis Suárez to have arthroscopic surgery
More info 👉 — FC Barcelona (@FCBarcelona) May 9, 2019
Barcelona have revealed that striker Luis Suarez is set to undergo knee surgery after sustaining an issue in his meniscus.

Barça are fresh from their humiliating exit to Liverpool in the Champions League semifinals, and the news of Suarez's injury will do little to improve their mood, especially ahead of the Copa del Rey final with Valencia at the end of May.

In a statement on the club website, it was revealed that: "The first team player Luis Suárez has an medial meniscus injury in his right knee and surgeon Dr. Cugat will perform arthroscopic surgery on the Uruguayan under the supervision of the Club's medical staff.

"The outcome of the process and an estimate of how long the striker will be out will be announced following the surgery."

Barcelona Could Be Ready To Sell Up To Ten First-Team Players This Summer.. See List

Barcelona are wasting no time in plans to overhaul their existing squad after reports suggest that they could sell up to ten first-team players this summer.

The La Liga champions have enjoyed domestic success this season and still have the chance to win the Copa del Rey later this month, but missing out on the Champions League crown has been a massive blow to them.

According to Diario AS, the Spanish club are getting ready for a summer clearout and three high-profile players feature on the list: Samuel Umtiti, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitić.

Umtiti, who has been linked with Juventus, has fallen down the pecking order behind Clément Lenglet and Gerard Piqué and could find his playing time reduced even more next season should Barça snap up Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt.

Meanwhile, Coutinho has found himself on the criticism from fans a fair bit this season and has been linked with clubs like Manchester United.

Rakitić, on the other hand, has been heavily linked with a move to Inter…

Barcelona make three man shortlist of Ernesto Valverde’s replacements

With Ernesto Valverde facing the sack, Barcelona have made a three-man shortlist as they look to bring in a new man in the dugout for the upcoming season.

Barcelona’s hopes of a treble all but crumpled after Liverpool mounted a sensational comeback against them and won 4-0 to complete a turnaround from a 3-0 defeat in the first leg, thereby ensuring qualification into the final of the UEFA Champions League. Meanwhile, it was the same old story for the Catalans who bottled a first leg lead pathetically in the second.

They are very much on track to complete a domestic double for the second season running, but the players were even ready to die in order to bring the European Cup back to the Camp Nou. Lionel Messi led the ambitioned call in a speech at the Blaugrana’s stadium earlier this season and it was echoed all throughout the season by everyone at the club.

However, Ernesto Valverde’s horrible man management and tactical setup has cost Barcelona not once, but twice, and they will b…

Should Lionel Messi leave Barcelona for Man City to end Cristiano Ronaldo debate for good?

THE one regret to tarnish the euphoria at Anfield is that Barcelona’s 4-0 defeat means Lionel Messi will never match Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally of five Champions League medals.

Unless, perhaps, he moves to Manchester City.

It was strange to see the diminutive Argentinian stripped so bare of his immortality that even Giffnock’s finest Andrew Robertson saw fit to cuff him round the ear in the opening moments.

At his pomp, that would have provoked untold retribution, but power to mesmerise was snuffed out on Tuesday because of the lack of the players around Messi to help him.

32 next month, he cannot carry a waning Barcelona team on his own.

Tuesday was a night when he needed his old mucker Andres Iniesta alongside him instead of playing out his retirement in Japan.

Real Madrid’s turmoil this season has made La Liga little more than a gentle canter and offered Messi a comfortable platform on which to shine.

He scored his 600th Barcelona goal, 50th career hat-trick and in the Nou Camp jus…

Valverde to be SACKED because of Liverpool loss? Barcelona president drops hint

ERNESTO VALVERDE’s future as Barcelona boss may well be in major doubt if Josep Maria Bartomeu’s comments in the wake of their defeat to Liverpool are anything to go by.

Barcelona took a three-goal lead to Anfield for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final contest and were huge favourites to progress to the final in Madrid on June 1.

But Lionel Messi and co. blew a commanding advantage for the second successive season as they lost 4-0 to Liverpool on Merseyside.

Barca were only 1-0 down at half-time despite conceding on seven minutes to Divock Origi but a quick-fire brace from half-time substitute Gini Wijnaldum put the Reds level on aggregate by the hour mark.

And Origi fired in from a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner after Barca’s defence suffered a lapse of concentration in the game’s final stages as Liverpool secured one of the competition’s all-time famous triumphs.

Valverde and Barca were hoping to end a five-year wait to win the Champions League having watched Real M…

Zidane’s key target rejects Real Madrid to play with Messi at Barcelona

Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane’s transfer ambitions have taken a toll after their primary target has decided in favour of a move to Barcelona.

Zinedine Zidane has always been a big fan of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah and has had ambitions of bringing him to Real Madrid. The Frenchman’s admiration has been backed by Madrid President Florentino Perez who does support Zidane’s idea of signing the Egypt international for the 13-time European champions.

Los Merengues are looking for better attacking prowess and Mohamed Salah would have definitely been a great addition to the Whites, but it has been claimed by Diario GOL that the former Roma winger prefers moving to Barcelona- who are also interested in him- over Real Madrid, a side that has undergone a horrible season.

The Catalans are heading for a treble and looking to knock Liverpool out in the process of winning the UEFA Champions League. However, their attacking options have not been very bright and only Lionel Messi and Luis Sua…
